Last week we held our annual Conics Team Day Out, and this time it was organised by two of our developers. It was a day full of surprises, challenges, and brain teasers!
The day began with a creative screen printing workshop at Printclinic in Kortrijk, where we received an introduction to this printing technique: We went through this process step by step… from making the screens, to mixing the ink and setting up the carousel, to the actual printing. With the help of AI – that’s surely the future of IT, isn’t it? – several designs were developed, with which we ultimately created our own Team T-shirts and tote bags, items that perfectly reflect the Conics DNA.
After this creative start, we went to a secret location for lunch. But that wasn't the end, as this is where our next activity began: the “Conics Dev-Game.” (or was it death game, editor's note?) Competition is in our blood, and that was evident once again. We were divided into two teams – MeggAtear and ConneggZ – and faced off against each other in a “dev competition,” with 7 rounds: Estimation – Todo – Development – Staging – Go Live – Support – Bugs. Each round reflected the typical challenges and funny situations that our developers encounter on a daily basis.
We ended this lovely day at restaurant De Parazaar, where we all enjoyed a delicious dinner, exchanged stories, and above all, had a lot of laughs. It was a perfect conclusion to a day full of fun, collaboration, and creativity.
