AFS is a user-friendly and future-proof software tool for monitoring the quality of anilox rollers in printing houses. The Anilox Follow-up System indicates when the cylinders need to be cleaned or otherwise adjusted/tweaked. The result: top-quality printing and reduced downtime of the printing presses.
All data in one clear tool
An anilox is a cylinder or sleeve (known as a screen roller), typically made of steel or aluminium, that transfers ink to the flexo printing plate or cliché. For optimal printing results, the transfer of ink must occur perfectly. Therefore, it is important that the anilox is clean and pure. Ink residues and contaminants in the anilox can also cause disruptions and downtime in the printing press. Many printing companies take measurements on their aniloxes but do not know how to interpret the results correctly.
AFS offers the solution for printing companies: the system indicates when the anilox needs maintenance or replacement. AFS is a collaboration tool used by printers, suppliers, and maintenance companies. All data about the anilox is clearly gathered in one (online) place. No more fragmented data, as everything is available with just a few clicks thanks to AFS. Parameters such as quality, damage, and transfer volume are analysed, and it is indicated when actions are needed, such as cleaning or reworking the anilox.
By properly maintaining the anilox, the print quality improves significantly, and the printer can standardise their production process, reducing the likelihood of downtime of the printing press and achieving a clearly better and more stable print quality.
User-friendly SAAS solution
As AFS is a SAAS solution (Software as a Service), different production sites can collaborate without compromising the privacy and security of data (in accordance with GDPR legislation). AFS is a very transparent solution where payment is made per user and per cylinder. Furthermore, the system is easily scalable without significant costs, for example when the printing company expands or grows.
AFS was developed in collaboration with DewaFlexo (www.dewaflexo.com), a French-Belgian specialist in the printing industry. They called upon Conics due to our experience in software solutions for the graphic sector.
