Ready for the future thanks to
user-friendly software from Conics
Since the implementation of workflow software in September 2018 at Crea Printing in Roeselare, the processing speed of the prepress department has increased significantly. The likelihood of errors has decreased, providing more peace of mind for the employees. “In the past, we needed several hours, often a whole day, to prepare and set up various die shapes for printing. Thanks to our new way of working, it now only takes a matter of minutes,” says Crea Prepress Manager Ann Dehaemers.
EXPERIENCE IN THE GRAPHIC SECTOR
Crea was looking for a software partner to tackle this problem. They soon found Conics, mainly due to our experience in the graphic sector and previous projects completed. “Based on an analysis of our company's processes and objectives, Conics proposed an action plan based on user-friendly software. The fact that they enhance Hybrid, an existing workflow software package, with custom solutions to meet our requirements and vision is a tremendous added value,” said Ann.
MUCH TIME LOSS DUE TO MANUAL WORK
Crea Printing has been specialising in printing plastics using offset-UV for over 30 years. Think of POS and promotional materials, packaging, decoration, and customised solutions for clients both domestically and internationally. In addition to printing, Crea offers total solutions to clients, from the design of a product or packaging to production and finishing. “We produce many labels for the green market, such as plastic plant markers. Often, this involves more than 1000 different labels per order, with dozens of different printing forms. In the past, the imposition of all those labels was largely done manually. We often spent an entire day on this. This was absolutely not an efficient way of working, especially when last-minute adjustments had to be made. It was clear that we could no longer continue working this way,” says Ann.

MORE PEACE OF MIND, FEWER MISTAKES
For Crea's customers, nothing changes: they continue to submit their files as before. Some do this in Excel, others in an XML file, and still others on paper… The big difference is the peace of mind that now prevails in the prepress department. Ann shares the following: “Everything that used to be done manually and took a lot of time is now done automatically. We no longer have to check it dozens of times. Manual adjustments, even last-minute, are also possible. Thanks to Conics' intelligent software, efficiency in our company received a boost, and we now have more control over our processes and planning. It was exactly what we needed to continue growing. Moreover, it is a user-friendly system, allowing all prepress staff to get started with it smoothly.”
